Cobos Building 2011

This lodge is located in the Galapagos Islands on a plot of land overlooking the sea in the center of San Cristobal and was designed to meet the needs of guests looking for an exclusive room.

The open character of the building is strengthened by the placement of the suites endowed with the highest comfort including private terraces as separate units on the sides.

Outside the rooms there is a central space for reading, relaxing and socializing with other guests. A restaurant, and an open space covered by a fabric that resembles the shells of the tortoises that give the islands their name, complement the hotel and give it added value.

In order to achieve an environment integrated into the surroundings, and at the same time use materials responsibly, extensive use was made of local materials.

The project has achieved a unique concept, blurring the boundaries between a hotel and a hostel. Instead of meeting the standards of conventional hotels, it tries to offer everything a guest needs to accompany an unforgettable experience in one of the most breathtaking places on the planet.
