Aguirre 2022 Swimming Pool

The commission came from the owners of the house that won the Architectural Design Award at the XVII Panamerican Biennial in Quito in 2012, being such a special work, the design of the pool was made respecting the original concept.
It is proposed to build it on the south side retreat; at mid-height, where there used to be secondary service bleachers, the hydromassage and solarium area is designed, protected from the wind by a first wall covered by vegetation.
The deep blue pool basin is surrounded by a concrete curb, the same material as the retaining wall on the eastern side.
A 6 m2 platform with a sheet of water welcomes visitors in the form of a beach where wet feet will regulate body temperature; an area where a massage table will be placed sporadically to receive massages accompanied by the sound of the inclined waterfall proposed at the southern boundary, will be the ideal place to relax.
The center of the pool is wider in order to offer a generous space for playful group activities while its length will allow swimming as exercise.
Avant-garde architecture with a breathtaking cantilever on the west side topped with glass to give the sensation of flying and as a backdrop the Cotopaxi volcano.
