Navas House 2023

The house responds to the new needs of clients who currently live in a 3-story penthouse in Quito and want to move to enjoy outdoor living in a house in a warmer environment and in a private urbanization committed to the environment, so they chose a plot of 2250 m2, 3 fronts and gentle downward slope in the Terraviva urbanization in Tumbaco.
The one-story project's priority is to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family in a residence with spaces that take advantage of the view of the magnificent landscape but at the same time maintain privacy.
The rear road overlooking the neighbor and the prevailing wind from the east determined to close that facade and use it to locate the garage for 4 cars and the service area in a set of volumes that take advantage of the slope and communicate with the irregular shape of the lot.
The main rooms are contained in a simple volume with large windows that guarantee the entry of light, open to the terrace, pool, garden and landscape.
A generous open covered space is located in front of the social area, the swimming pool in front of the bedrooms and the outdoor depressed room in the center sharing the site with the steps that lead visitors to the garden, bathroom, and equipment storage and filters for the reuse of rainwater on a lower level.
The exterior wood ceiling, together with the use of avant-garde materials, textures and neutral colors provide warmth and serenity to all the rooms, as well as allowing the owners to unmistakably personalize their home.
